artPLAY ARTISTS…LET’S START PLAYING….

THALIA BELLAZECCA is a Milan based guitarist who is spreading creative girl power via her music. Although only 19 she already plays in a metal band Frozen Crown and is also a model. Thalia had a chat with artPLAY about being a young female artist, her style and her band.

artPLAY: We are all about girl power, how does it feel to be in a metal band in such intense environment and performing among all these men to a large audience.

Thalia: Well I have to say that it’s a really good feeling. I always dreamt to be in a band like Frozen Crown, playing on the biggest stages with super bands, like we do now. Ofcourse sometimes it’s hard to be on stage playing and not noticing all those looks that men give me because of how I dress and/or just because I’m a girl. I would rather think that they’re looking at me because of my music skills, I see that somethings it is not the case at all and it’s ok ahahaha but you know, I notice it, but I don’t care, I’m on that stage because I deserve it and I work hard to be there.

artPLAY: Talk to us about your music and how did you end up with this particular type of band.

Thalia: I love this story it’s the dream you’ve always wanted and then it becomes reality. “Frozen Crown” was born as a studio project, thn Federico Mondelli, who is the guitarist, singer, songwriter and lots of many other cool things (he’s a really freaking cool guy) decided to create a real band and casted Giada Jade Etro our singer, the percussion man Alberto Mezzanotte, the bass man Filippo Zavattari and lucky me. For the singer role they auditioned many girls and Jade became the actual singer, she’s a really cool girl. Filippo the bass man is like the dad handyman of the band, or better HE’S the dad handyman ahahahah. For the drummer role, they auditioned lots of guys, and Filippo just said “Hey, I have a cousin that is a freaking drum machine” so it’s true, he is a wonderful drummer and that’s it!
And then here I come! They were looking for a female guitarist, choosing between lots of profiles and Filippo saw me and said “She’s the girl!” So Frozen Crown was finally completed.

artPLAY: Your looks stand out, how did you develop your original style and what kind of fashion and visuals you are inspired by.

Thalia: I have to be sincere. I just thought “Ok, I have to dress for a power metal band, so I need to look like a valkyrie or something like that. Corset, leather and black. That’s it”

When I’m on stage I kind of move and act like a male guitarist, my metal idols are ALL men, so corsets and sexy leather tops help a lot to emphasize the femininity that I might “lose” sometimes on stage. I love to mix the gothic, kinky and sexy styles.

artPLAY: What are your future plans, ofcourse now during difficult times epidemics and panic we need artists to spread creativity.

Thalia: Now I’m studying to become a guitar teacher so that I can fill up those months and weeks where I’m not on tour or busy with concerts. I am working on my own merch, videos and also my songs. I have lots of ideas, but until now never had the time to just sit down and plan them all. I have been interested in erotic photography for some time now, I find it really fascinating seeing the body not only in a sexual way, but as pure art.

Being an erotic model doesn’t mean you’re selling sex, you’re selling art and I think I can try that.
