SANTA K – is a genderfluid fashion figure, techno kid, dj and a high fashion model. He is part of this new generation of free and creative artists who are not afraid to express themselves. His style shifts and is unapologetically genderbending, he can be 80s and rock, fetishy feminine, futuristic, high fashion or trashy rave. In any case Santa is bending all stereotypes and is “killing it” on the runway.

Santa K talks to artPLAY about his fashion journey:

“It’s amazing how the fashion industry has taken a turn burning all those old prejudices, fashion has changed, the genres broke and the seasons no longer exist, the world is different!”

It is a dream come true being the new generation of genderfluid models, as a child I saw fashion shows and always dreamed to be part of it but I did not really identify with male figures, I dreamed of parading with such impossible looks. Suddenly now, 23 years old and I am on the runway for Rick Owens, walking the most outrageous platforms.

I know that there are many young people who are struggling to find their own identity because of social opinions etc, but baby I was also dreaming until one day I just decided to become all that I dreamed of, and so I started by changing my name, changing my hair and there was I, reborn. Now I am so focused on djing, techno music and living in fashion and this is not a work for me, this is how I express myself, IT IS MY LIFE I try to hand out a bit of myself (and a some of entertainment too hahaha).

I don’t like to categorize myself in genres or words but I love fashion, social movements, and music in general. I am pisces so I like to feel everything fully, for example when I make techno music I try to cure your anxiety, you can let it all out on the dance floor, when I do fashion I want to “kill you” with my catwalk on the runway. It is all an industry but for me it is more than that, it is an attitude, is a style of life.

After finishing this Paris Fashion Week and having worked with designers like Rick Owens, I will obviously continue to work in fashion but it’s time to focus on finishing my music album; techno, avant garde, fashion, pain, mainstream and entertain, give me time I’m doing my best.

Remember that I’m just playing and having fun, I think that’s what we all should do……
The most incredible thing about all this is…that dreams can come true…..
