René de Sans is a visual artist based in Berlin. He works mainly with photography and film. His primary artistic interests include the exploration of human bodies as visual, visceral and psychological landscapes that express, incarnate and question ideas of identity, gender, sexuality and taboo. Renés art plays with, explores and deconstructs normative ideas in search of alternative, authentic and diversified modes of expression. His style is ranging from minimalistic and emotionally charged portraits to symbolic poses and metaphorical scenes that sometimes evolve into abundant, surrealist dreamscapes.

Even the clichés in fetish, shibari and bdsm culture. I am looking for unexpected moments within bodies and movement that broadens the spectrum of viewing habits.”
