KARINA AKOPYAN – An artist originally from Russia now based in London, Karinas vision is fresh but brutal it combines elements of traditional Russian folk art with fetish art. Her images definitely have a very strong impact on the viewer either shock or curiosity, an attraction or distaste no one can be indifferent to her creations. Politically and religiously charged Karinas art provokes and raises questions. Karina is also a powerful female presence and is sometimes a conceptual piece of fetish art herself, dressed in customised latex and Russian folk art inspired costumes she is a walking and a provoking piece of Art!
